When we designed a home in 2000, I put the laundry area upstairs, where all the bedrooms were. There were chutes through the wall into the laundry from the kids' bathroom and the master closet. It was SO CONVENIENT! I had a drawer in the room for each person, so I never even had to go put their clothes away, I just stuck them in the drawers. The only laundry I ever had to haul was the occasional basket of kitchen linens from the main floor. I wish I still lived there. I completely agree!
