Rumor has it that our permit will be issued Monday morning. Word on the street is that the builder will be on the lot with the backhoe within minutes of the issue, if the weather holds out.
I’ll try not to get too worked up about it, but if it doesn’t happen, I’ll grab my shovel and dig the hole myself.

As usual, rumors are nasty things. Word at 10:00 am was, “We’re still working on it.”
Where is my shovel?
4:45 pm. That’s when the permits were ready. And they had to be signed by the builder before 5:00…who lives in a different city.
Sigh. On to Tuesday. Another day lost.
