weather Construction & Weather

When we finally closed the construction loan last November, I was sure we had missed the good-weather window and would be sitting around in our rental house watching the snow fall for a number of months.

To my surprise, even the famous Utah snow doesn’t completely stop the building process. In fact, to this point the construction delays have been almost entirely due to material/labor issues — which occurred during an almost entirely dry month, of course — and only a few days have been because of bad weather.

With careful planning and judicious use of blankets, tarps, and heaters, construction has only been stopped during actual storms, which aren’t that frequent.

The weather forecast said it was going to snow again today. So far, it’s been sunny with only a few clouds and no water from the sky. Cross your fingers. The more sun we have the faster we can get this house finished.

This was a great winter in Utah for construction workers I’m sure. Hardly any snow or rain. As for snowboarders and skiiers, well they were a little bit more dissapointed I’m sure.
