I hate to give a stock answer, si, but the truth is there is a wide range. It depends on the square footage and materials (all sorts of possible add-ons) as well as how much your sub will charge for installation.

My advice is to check with a local subcontractor and then get a couple of comparison bids.

Thanks for stopping by!

Todd, we had it in our last house and it's one of those "you can never go back" features if you ask me. Having radiant heat in the floor , high ceilings, and a walk-out were the only things that could convince me to put any bedrooms in the basement!

We have radiant heat in our home in the basement, first floor and bathrooms on the 2nd floor. It's really an amazingly comfortable feature that we love. I'm a bit skeptical to the sales folks who claim it's more efficient compared to other heating types. However, we love our system and if you can afford it I say go for it!

StanD, there are a number of costs involved, from the tubing, boiler, etc. I'll be breaking out the costs a bit later and posting that.

I can give you one example of cost. With the infrastructure already in place, we were given a bid of $2,100 to add radiant to the main floor master suite.

Of course, "worth" is relative, but if it's in the budget, it's really an amazing feature.

I’ve never been in a house with this kind of heat. How expensive are we talking here? And is it really worth it?
