Stucco – Exterior and Interior

We’ve got stucco going up on the exterior of our home and the interior as well. While exterior stucco is pretty common around here, we’re also having stucco applied to the interior side of the exterior walls. This is actually less expensive than sheetrock, because the stucco adhere directly to the blocks, without all the paper and wire work required on wood construction.

All the interior sides of the concrete blocks will be covered with stucco. Then the mud crew will plaster over the stucco. The end result will leave all the interior walls looking the same, so there won’t be color or texture differentiations between the rocked walls and the stucco walls.

The brown coat is completed and the crew has begun to apply the color coat to the trim. Utility Building Systems is supplying our stucco, soffit and facia, and rain gutters.

The house is really looking good. I like the white trim. It looks like wood trim and makes the window really pop. What color is the main part of the house going to be?

Thank you! The main house is a medium brown. The gables are a cream color that actually has turned out to look pretty yellow. Since yellow is my favorite color, I’m good with that. :)
